Fees & Policies
-
Session Fees
A fee of $230.00 applies to all individual therapy sessions and is payable at the time of the consultation. Rebates may apply.
Please note you do not need a mental health treatment plan or General Practitioner (GP) referral to access psychological therapy.
For new clients, a deposit of $115 is required when booking an initial appointment. This will be deducted from the first session fee.
A standard psychology session is approximately 50 minutes.
We are a private billing practice and do not offer bulk billing.
-
Medicare Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP)
You may be eligible for a MHTP. Seeing your GP or obtaining a referral from a Psychiatrist or Paediatrician you may be able to obtain a MHTP as part of the Australian Governments Better Access Scheme to help cover the cost of psychological therapy, which provides a Medicare rebate of $96.65 per session.
For further information, please see here: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/mental-health-care-and-medicare?context=60092.
-
Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance, you may be eligible to claim a rebate related to your psychology therapy sessions, and this would depend on the level of coverage you hold. It is recommended clients investigate this with their private health insurance provider.
Please note you cannot claim both a Medicare rebate and a rebate from your private health fund simultaneously.
-
WorkCover/CTP
We are NSW WorkCover/CTP accredited to provide counselling and psychological therapy.
Fees are as applicable from the relevant Insurer.
Your workers compensation insurance or CTP insurer should send you approval for WorkCover/CTP which you will need to supply when booking your initial consultation. They will advise you of the number of approved sessions.
All accounts will be sent to your insurer for payment. However, if your claim is at any point denied by the insurer, fees will then become payable by you, the client.
-
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
Under the NDIS, we can provide services to individuals with NDIS funding who are either self-managed or plan-managed. Unfortunately, we are not NDIS registered and cannot offer services for agency-managed plans/clients.
For NDIS clients, a fee of $222.99 applies to all psychology therapy sessions.
-
Psychological Assessments
Please get in touch with us regarding psychological assessment fees.
For psychological assessments, 50% of the service fee is required two weeks before the assessment and the balance of 50% on the day of the assessment.
Cancellation Policy
To provide our services and support, we need to be able to utilise all our appointment availabilities. The psychologist reserves the whole hour specifically for clients when appointments are booked.
We understand that sometimes you may be unable to keep an appointment because of a sudden illness or an unexpected event. If this happens to you, please get in touch with us as soon as possible on 0434 873 521 to discuss the situation.
Notifying us that you cannot attend an appointment allows us to offer the allocated time to another client who may be on a waiting list.
A late cancelled appointment is a loss to three people:
1. The client who is delaying their therapy progress.
2. Another client on the waiting list to see the psychologist.
3. The psychologist who spent the time preparing the session.
Please note: Whilst we send appointment reminders, this is a courtesy only and attending appointments remains your responsibility.
The following cancellation and non-attendance policy applies:
-
50% of the service fee will be charged for cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice (two business days).
100% of the service fee will be charged for cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice (one business day).
Monday appointments must be cancelled by the Close Of Business on Wednesday to avoid a late cancellation fee.
The full service fee will be charged for an appointment that has been missed with no notice (non-attendance).
Medicare does not pay rebates for missed appointments.
-
100% of the NDIS service fee will be charged for cancellations with less than seven days notice. This policy is consistent with the NDIS Cancellation Policy.
-
If you fail to attend your appointment, we cannot invoice your Insurer, thus, it is important that you provide adequate notice of cancellation so that the appointment may be offered to someone else.
-
For any assessments that require more than two hours on the same day, we require at least five business day's notice of cancellation.
Non-attendance / late cancellation fees for assessments will be the cost of the psychologist's full fee per hour for the assessment duration.
